Complete Solutions Robotics, an RMH Systems Company, is looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to develop generalized system & machine CAD layouts, proposed budgets (hours & material/equipment costs), and write concise technical documents (system overviews, proposed statements of work, and system sequence of operations). This role plays a key position in developing custom industrial automated systems, primarily in the material handling and packaging industries.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Interact daily with potential customers and the sales team to develop system designs & proposals that meet our customers' requirements.
- Assist the sales team in the sales process with customers.
- Create a cost breakdown of equipment and estimates for the equipment we will utilize and integrate into the system.
- Collaborate with the sales and engineering teams to create a high-level system layout (2D and/or 3D CAD), including equipment specifications.
- Assist in determining and gathering internal and external resources required for the project.
- Create a general functional design and review project criteria to ensure the proposed system can meet the customer’s requirements.
- Work with vendors to specify necessary equipment & options for the proposed system.
- Present concepts and budgets to our customers and internal teams clearly and concisely.
- Engage with customers, sales, project managers, and vendors to create the final system CAD drawing, including dimensioning and detailing, for installation purposes.
- Manage multiple projects & proposals at different stages of the quoting process.
MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in an engineering field, or 3 years of experience in a similar industry, preferably related to quoting/designing in the automation, robotics, material handling, and/or packaging industries.
- General knowledge of material handling, packaging, and automation systems design (Process Flow, Mechanical Design Requirements, Controls Design Requirements).
- Ability to brainstorm and concept unique solutions with RMH Engineers and vendors.
- 2D AutoCAD & 3D CAD Experience – AutoDesk Inventor experience a plus
- Strong communication skills with the ability to write clear and concise technical documents describing the proposed automated system.
- A working knowledge of Microsoft Excel/Word/Outlook/PowerPoint
- Travel to customer sites and other RMH Systems locations to meet potential customers and assist in sales calls, up to 25% travel (primarily day trips).
- Valid Driver’s License required and must be eligible to drive per respective state law based on office location.
